Michael McCluskey is an English professor at Northeastern University. While he grew up down the road from the Wayside Inn, his interest in its history was rekindled when he moved back to the area after living in London for several years. As a member of the board, he brings his interest in local history and archival research as well his experience organizing public events with cultural institutions. In London, he planned and participated in events at the British Museum, British Film Institute, and Royal Society of Antiquaries. Back here at home, he delivered two public talks on the schools of the Wayside Inn in collaboration with archivist Lauren Prescott. His activities as a board member include supporting cultural programs, encouraging research, and developing opportunities that promote and help preserve the Inn’s historic campus and collections. In addition to serving on the board of trustees of The Wayside Inn Foundation, he is also on the board of directors of Digital Commonwealth and on the editorial board of The London Journal. He lives in Marlborough with his family.
