The Wayside Inn Foundation (TWIF) is delighted to offer the community a safe, organized way for children and their caregivers to dress up for Halloween with Tricks & Treats at The Wayside Inn on Sunday morning, October 25th.

TWIF will be adhering to the state’s current attendance mandates, so no drop-ins are allowed. Everyone must be registered in advance. We will start a waiting list if the event fills up. E-mail TWIF@wayside.org to be added to the waiting list.
How the event will work:
Starting at 10:00 am we will be running shifts of 20 people at a time (100 person maximum for this outdoor event) through a property tour – our “tricks course” - starting at our event tent with check-in. Attendees will be given color-coded bracelets to manage social distancing. Families will then be sent to three stations in the vicinity of Longfellow’s Wayside Inn to participate in fun tricks (music, poetry, a no-contact game) and then back to the tent to check out, collect a bag of treats, and have some cider and donuts. All areas are in close proximity to the Inn and the route and parking is an easy walk for younger children.
The event will be held outdoors or under the event tent. Rain or Shine. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Face masks are required.

Help is needed:
We are looking for volunteers to help us with event set-up, clean-up, crowd-monitoring and refreshment table shifts. These jobs are perfect for high schoolers looking to fulfill community service requirements. TWIF is a nonprofit organization.

To help our nonprofit pull this event together we are also looking for donations of bagged candy, gallons of cider, and donuts. If you are interested in donating, or are affiliated with a local business who would like to help out, we would be grateful and donors will be acknowledged at signage during the event and on our social media announcements.
