Enjoy talking with old friends and new just as happened at the Red Horse Tavern, as the Inn was known, in its early days.
Tavern Talks offer an opportunity to discuss today’s issues with other members of the community. This is the second in a series of facilitated talks in the Old Bar.
Using conversation guides created by Living Room Conversations*, this Tavern Talk will discuss the following theme:
Prior to the passing of the 19th amendment, many women in American society were largely regarded as property and child bearers. After women were given the right to vote, it is sometimes assumed that all other injustices vanished and women became equal to men. It has been 100 years since women have had the right to vote in America, however there is still much progress to make in the coexistence of men and women in society today. Movements like #MeToo and Third Wave Feminism are proof that we may have a way to go in the establishment of gender equality. What degree of value does American society actually place on women in this day in age?
Conversations begin promptly at 7:00 PM and last approximately 90 minutes. Seating is limited.
