Just 10 minutes from Longfellow’s Wayside Inn, Garden in the Woods is the 45-acre botanical garden owned and operated by New England Wild Flower Society, America’s oldest plant conservation organization. The Garden offers the largest landscaped collection of native New England plants in the region, including over 1,000 different species in naturalistic displays, and more than 100 rare and endangered species.

Guided walking tours are offered Tuesdays through Fridays and holiday Mondays at 10 a.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Cart tours for those needing mobility assistance can be arranged for weekday afternoons by calling 508-877-7630, ext 3303.
